Cooking oil

The wok oil. Hong Kong homes traditionally used peanut oil and now mostly corn or vegetable oil; it must take high heat without tasting of anything, which olive oil cannot. Peanut oil is the most fragrant, and peanut is a major allergen in Australia, so ask before cooking with it for guests.
