Five-willow pickle
五柳料
A single jar of sweet and sour pickles: pickled shallot-like 蕎頭, ginger, papaya, cucumber and carrot, cut into thin strips like willow leaves, which is where the name comes from. It is what goes over 五柳炸蛋 and five-willow fish. Hong Kong households buy it by the jar rather than pickling five things themselves. Drain it and cut it finer before use.
