雜貨舖THE GROCER
Fried dough stick
油條
Golden, hollow sticks of fried dough eaten with congee. Cut them into lengths over the bowl so they go half-crisp and half-soft, which is the point of them. Chinese grocers keep them frozen — refry or oven-crisp them at home — and Chinese bakeries have them fresh in the morning. A bowl without one is still a good bowl.
Preparation
Crisp the frozen ones in the oven or refry them, then cut into lengths.
