Sesame and peanut glutinous rice balls in ginger syrup
“Now we cook you something good.”
What the tradition says
The tradition holds that this is 補鈣、補血、烏髮、上奶, and that ginger is 驅風驅寒, that it drives out wind and cold.
After a caesarean
The ginger syrup is the contested element: one HK practitioner source says caesarean mothers should avoid ginger entirely and substitute 陳皮. No evidence was located that culinary ginger impairs wound healing.
