Ingredients

百子櫃Dried sea whelk slices· dried40 g (1 tael)
百子櫃Solomon's seal rhizome40 g (1 tael)
百子櫃Ophiopogon tuber20 g
百子櫃Dried Chinese yam· dried40 g (1 tael)
街市Lean pork300 g
街市Fresh ginger2 slices

Method

  1. Soak the dried conch slices until soft.
  2. Cut the lean pork into pieces and blanch it (汆水, a quick boil to clear the scum).
  3. Rinse the 玉竹, 麥冬, 淮山, goji berries and honey dates.
  4. Put everything in with the ginger slices and 2.5 litres of water and bring to the boil over high heat.
  5. Turn down to low heat and simmer for 2.5 to 3 hours, then season with salt.

Who should take care

  • not while a cold is still unresolved
  • people with a weak, cold digestion must cook it with ginger
  • not suitable after childbirth or during a period (響螺片)
