What the tradition says

The tradition holds that this is 護心活血、驅風驅寒、行氣活血, and fish is on the standard 發奶 list said to bring milk down.

After a caesarean

開刀視情況而定. Ginger is the most disputed ingredient in caesarean confinement, and some HK caesarean sources also forbid fish for 12 days.

雜貨舖Cooked rice2 bowls
街市Salmon fillet1 piece
街市Fresh ginger1 tbsp (diced)
雜貨舖Salt1 tsp
雜貨舖Cooking oil1 tbsp (15 ml)

Method

  1. Pan-fry the salmon fillet and flake it.
  2. Fry the diced ginger, add the rice and about a teaspoon of salt, and work the ginger through.
  3. Clear a well, pour in the beaten egg, wait one to two seconds, then fold it through until set.
  4. Fold the salmon back in.
